    Lauren E. Gobern

Lauren Gobern is an Afro-Caribbean poet whose work is deeply rooted in heritage, memory, and matriarchy. Drawing from the rich cultural soil of her lineage, she crafts poetry that honors the resilience, tenderness, and complexity of the women who shaped her. Her debut collection, Mango, began as a Mother’s Day gift and blossomed into a heartfelt tribute to the matriarchs of her family. Named after the fruit tree that grew on her grandmother’s land, Mango is both a literary offering and a living archive—lined with poetic portraits of mothers and grandmothers whose quiet strength and unseen sacrifices echo through generations. With lyrical intimacy, Gobern captures the emotional landscapes of womanhood, family, and Caribbean identity. Her work is a meditation on legacy and love, offering readers an evocative look into the spirit of a family carried and cultivated by women.
