    About the Ebook

Nothing ever happens in Bushdell, a modern suburbia. That is, until a black, one-eyed pastry chef from France, suffering from memory loss, sets up a bakery in town overnight. If it sounds far-fetched, that's because it is. The townspeople love to gossip. Is this mysterious baker hiding something terrible? Some think he's crazy, others think he's a murderer. One college student sets out to uncover the truth behind the baker's sudden appearance with a little help from an eight year-old boy, an internet-savvy bimbo, a good-hearted troublemaker, and a viral video. But what they discover will change their understanding of themselves, their hometown, and life itself.

"BLOOD AND BAGUETTES" is a story with elements of mystery, romance, comedy, and horror, intended for modern audiences. The influence of the internet in today's society is addressed, as are issues such as death, cancer, racism and police corruption. This play is a light-hearted, fictional tale celebrating empathy and the human spirit in a cruel world. Featuring artwork from the author, inspired by the story.

H.J. Bennett is an author from sunny California. However, Bennett is primarily known for her work as an artist, specializing in mixed media portraiture on canvas. Bennett has been selling custom paintings for over 10 years and has been writing since childhood. Bennett keeps busy with numerous projects that provide commentary on the society we live in. Bennett was very affected by the sudden death of her father when she was 17 years old and bed-ridden from spinal fusion surgery. Grieving and bed-ridden, Bennett began writing the play titled, "Blood and Baguettes" that dealt with grief, death, and how to move on. This play set the groundwork for Bennett as she went on to write "Franken-Fatale", "Trouble in Undead Detroit", and "Planet Rot". Throughout these works she would continue to address the topic of death as a means of processing her own loss and place in society.
