About
Nicole M. is a writer, farmer, and co-owner of Z&N Farm, where she lives and works alongside her husband—a fifth-generation farmer—and their two daughters, Willow and Aurora. A graduate of Cal Poly Humboldt with a Bachelor’s in Political Science (’09) and a Master’s in Social Work (’13), she spent more than a decade serving her community through social services and public relations before turning her focus toward the land.
Since 2018, Nicole has helped steward Z&N Farm, growing food for her community while raising children in the rhythms of the seasons. Her work on and off the farm has included serving on several boards of directors, including two local farmers markets, reflecting her devotion to local agriculture and community connection.
Heart Soil is her first collection—a weaving of poetry and photographs from the farm across generations.
