Matt Meyer is an internationally noted historian, public speaker, and organizer who is Secretary-General Emeritus of the International Peace Research Association, the world’s leading consortium of university-based professors, scholars, students, and community leaders. Meyer is the Senior Editor of the Africa World Press/Red Sea Press Book Series “Africa World Peace”, examining justice, human rights, and peace perspectives from Africa, the Global South, and the Diaspora. He is also Senior Research Scholar of the University of Massachusetts/Amherst’s Resistance Studies Initiative, and has been active with the International Fellowship of Reconciliation and the War Resisters’ International. The author/editor of over a dozen books, Meyer’s work has been cited and praised by the Nobel Peace Laureates Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa, Adolfo Perez Esquivel of Argentina, and Mairead Corrigan Maguire of Northern Ireland.
