I was born in Galveston, TX, and raised twenty miles from there. After earning a Ph.D. degree in Business & Economics, I taught for thirty-five years at the university level. I retired in 1999 and moved from the Texas Coast to Wears Valley, TN, (near Gatlinburg).

I began writing for fun in 2003. Some of my stories are for young children. However, there are also some for pre-teens and early teens. And there are some, including several Private Detective stories, for adults and mature teens.

None of my books have curse words, horrific crime scenes, or explicit sexual scenes, and no character ever takes the Lord's name in vain.

My wonderful wife and I have been married for sixty years. Our son, daughter, and their families live here, and our six grandsons have been raised here. As a result, we are a very close family. So, my earliest books were family oriented and/or written especially for children. When my grandsons were older, I began writing stories for the more mature reader.
