We are two women, often finding ourselves wearing masks and imagining being half-animal. The reason is not a fetish. It's our way to denounce injustice, take action, and pay tribute to all the suffering species.

Artemis Beasts was born in 2017, when our daily discussions about health, ethics, and a sustainable future were no longer enough. We needed to dig deeper. Advocating for animal rights has become our purpose and the pathway toward our own freedom. As activist artists, we aim to confront, question, and unsettle truth-telling. We speak through live performance, song, poetry, movement, sculpture, and other mediums that can evoke feelings and inspire change. This book, is another form of activism, giving animals a voice to break free from ancient chains.

The interconnectedness of all life is the driving force behind all our work. The hybrid beings we embody-part human, part beast-reflect our oneness. When we free the animals, we free ourselves!
