    About the Book

    Edit

Sticks describes a biodiversity project in growing Cajun Prairie plants. The project involves propagating nearly 50 species of native plants by a variety of means, but root and stem cuttings, referred to as ‘sticks,’ are the major method of propagation. The plan is to grow 40 species of prairie plants in a square meter ‘nanoprairie’ garden, attempting to provide the greatest variety of plants per unit area. The garden is planned around providing insects with the greatest variety of food and interactions. These insects will be the potential solution to a variety of ecological problems.
