    About the Book

    Edit

This book is a compilation of some of my favorite photographs of the amazing scenery and wildlife the world has to offer. From Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city in the world, to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Saint Andrews Bay, and the Antarctica continent, these are some of the most special places on earth. As Andrew Denton aptly said, “If Antarctica were music, it would be Mozart. Art, and it would be Michelangelo. Literature, and it would be Shakespeare. And yet it is something even greater; the only place on Earth that is still as it should be. May we never tame it.”

All proceeds from this book are being donated to the Aaron Matthew SIDS Research Guild of Seattle Children’s Hospital, in honor of our son Aaron Matthew Kahan who died of SIDS in October of 2003. SIDS is the sudden and unexplained death of an infant younger than a year old. SIDS is the leading cause of death among infants 1 month to 1-year old. Most SIDS deaths are associated with sleep, and infants who die of SIDS show no signs of suffering. SIDS strikes without warning and leaves scant clues about its cause. It not only haunts parents like us who lost a child to SIDS, but casts a shadow of fear over every parent.

Your purchase of this book contributes to life-saving discoveries that will give parents peace of mind and a new outcome for our beautiful children.
