These photographs were taken during a 7 week trip to Japan. We followed the appearance of the cherry blossom – hanami – from Kagoshima in the south to Sapporo in the north. We encountered generosity, helpfulness, humour, courtesy, ritual and respect. We hope the photographs confirm our positive feelings of Japan.
