About the Book
It started with a brunch invitation. Come, friends, for good food, company and maybe some poetry.
It lasted seven hours.
A seven-hour brunch! Thus, its epic reputation was born. Truthfully, I wanted to host my friends, feed them and collaborate in some artistic fashion. What happened was more than I could have ever anticipated or wished for. Over the years the participants have varied but the idea remains the same. Come for the food, stay for the rest.
Brunch is music, poetry, art, and good conversation, hours of delicious meetings of minds as well as new and old friends. Out of this event a book was born. All the poems, individual and collaborative, compiled in one volume. Beautifully illustrated by Pollux with artistic contributions by Marianne Viallet, this labor of love and friendship is five years in the making.
-Gloria Smith, Hostess, Poetess, and Chef
