    About the Book

    Edit

From his hometown of Penfield, New York, throughout the Finger Lakes region and along the Erie Canal in New York State, to the western United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the British Isles and France, Bob Graham has selected photographs for his new book, Palaces Partially Destroyed. The title refers to a 1926 painting by the Swiss artist, Paul Klee, called Palace, Partially Destroyed. Graham has put together his own take on a theme visited by many painters and photographers. His meditation depicts the inevitable decline of people special to him as well as the decline of places and things. Quotations from William Shakespeare complement Graham's photographs which were taken between 1966 and 2015.
