    About the Book

    Edit

My first trip to Tokyo was for the unforgettable chance to take photos for a wedding. Months later, after realizing that I hadn't taken advantage of all the city had to offer me, I went back for a second trip. Tokyo needs more than a few days to fully appreciate its heart and soul.
Before going to Japan, I prepared for the trip by reading all I could about the country and studying pictures of it. I wanted to be aware of my surroundings upon arrival, and better equipped to interpret them through my own lens.

The photos in this book were taken in Tokyo and the city of Iwaki.

I decided to arrange the pictures in such a way that they tell a story. A story that recounts what struck me as the three most compelling sides of Japan: its historical landscape; its people and their lifestyle; and its modern architecture. All three blend together, making it impossible to separate one from the others.

I enjoy exploring various kinds of photography. Some of the types of photography I enjoy most are reportage, portraits, boudoir, sports. I work both in-studio and outdoors, and play with both natural and artificial lighting. I don't limit myself to just one kind of photography. I live in Italy and most of my photographs are taken here. However, when I have the the opportunity to do so, I live for traveling and creating travel stories with the images that I capture. Photography is the way that I express myself the best, and a means through which to portray my vision of life.
