A most personal book, the artist, Jerry Gotkin, started to reflect on the variety of subjects that a most beautiful garden offered in the midst of the most intimate relationships of patients and families at a time of transition. The gardens become a metaphor for change that is experiencing and it grandly reassures the continuity that change brings. Many of these mixed-media paintings are permanently hung inside the walls of Hospice by the Sea.
