    About the Book

    Edit

I started writing a blog years ago when I adopted my dog, Oliver. There never seemed to be a shortage of funny stories with him and a friend suggested I start writing about them. Since Oliver wasn't always hilarious and I enjoy writing, I started to write about other things, like being a single girl in Florida and what day to day life was like there. I wrote about trips, being a friend, daughter, sister, photojournalist (which included the tanking economy's effect on the newspaper industry), and a person with Type 1 diabetes. Plus some birth, death, and politics thrown in for good measure. I don't consider myself a writer. Or a novelist. I just like to tell stories and I enjoy trying to convey them in writing.

    Cydney Scott
    Wakefield, MA United States

Cydney knew she wanted to be a photojournalist the instant she saw Alfred Eisenstadt's 'The Dragon is Slain.' She has been a photographer for The Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Evansville Courier and Press, The Citizen in Auburn, New York, and The Palm Beach Post in West Palm Beach, Florida. She has been awarded the National Press Photographers Association's MNCC Photographer of the Year, and has also received accolades from Photographer of the Year International (POYi) and New York AP. Her work has been chosen for the juried annual exhibit for the NPPA Women's Conferences, and she was chosen to participate in the distinguished Eddie Adams Barnstorm 11 Workshop. Since returning to the Boston area, she has discovered a passion for documenting birth. Cydney prides herself on having a subtle presence while capturing the decisive moment. With exception to posed portraits, she shoots in a documentary style and works with available light.
