One of the special things that any visitor to Ghana notices is the signs, particularly the hand painted ones. They are ubiquitous and appear on walls, billboards, cars, boats, small huts and little placards. They provide a glimpse into the humour and also the strong Christian beliefs of many Ghanaians.



This book is by no means a photographic masterpiece. Some of the pictures were hurriedly taken from the car as we bumbled around Ghana and so they are a bit blurred.

However, I hope it gives you a glimpse into the creativity, passion and humour of the amazing and fast disappearing artform - the Ghanaian signs.
