    About the Book

    Edit

160,000 Miles of Color is a culmination of my recent journeys to some of my favorite locales for inspiration. When I say I am a photographer, people immediately try and figure out what that means. They inquire, weddings?, wildlife? commercial? paparazzi? and I respond no. When asked to expound on what I do creatively I actually searched for a long time for a meaningful answer. Finally one of my students helped me define my work. My passion is color and my muse is ice. I am a cryophilic, "love of ice". I am intrigued and passionate about the wave patterns that form in ice creating blazing color and texture and have since found those same patterns not only in the coldest places on earth but also ironically in some of the warmest. The deserts of the world have similar patterns and textures in the sand as the polar regions have in the ice. This show is a revealing look at my passion for color. The majority of images in this show are recent and taken within a 14 month period of time.
