About the Book
In this collection of portraits, birds of various sizes and species are depicted with some feature of human life or society. A curassow smokes an e-cigarette; a saddle-billed stork clutches a Justin Bieber album. A juror badge hangs around the neck of a spoonbill, while a sensible jacket clothes a cockatoo. Birds have to live amongst our clutter and culture, and these portraits depict birds as much as they do human society. Local artist Pollux depicts each bird with verve, humor, and loving detail.
