    About the Book

    Edit

This book chronicles the descendants of the Wetzler Family started by Franz Weczler in the early 1700s along with the story of his family's migration to the Banat area of Romania and continues as a memoir of a grandmother's journey to Canada and the life she built in the New World across the Atlantic. It tells the story of family members left behind in the old country and of those who came to build a new life in North America when economics, opportunity and adventure intersected for the turn-of-the-century generation of family members.

    Michael R. Keller
    Palm Springs, CA USA 92262-3840

Born in Leamington, Ontario, Canada, Michael Keller spent his childhood days growing up on the family’s tobacco farm. He moved to Vancouver in 1971 and lived there for 14 years before moving to California. He currently resides in Palm Springs, California. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accountancy from California State University, Northridge, and obtained his CPA license in the State of California. An interest in family history started with the stories told to him by his grandparents. A world tour took him to the home towns of his grandparents in both, Romania and Hungary, where he had the opportunity to meet relatives on the other side of the Atlantic. He wrote four family history books based on those stories and research compiled from records at the Family History Center in Los Angeles.
