    About the Book

    Edit

"The Fetch and The Fool" was completely a labor of love for me. Either love or tears. It may be hard to say. It just plain took a lot of work. That's the price of a 300 page, full-color novel. The price on this book is high I understand, but because oh it's length and scope Blurb wouldn't publish it for very much less than I'm asking.. Regardless, the novel takes us through a journey of the soul. The main character sees into his future, remembers his past, and exists calmly in the present. Our protagonist fights, and struggles, eventually facing and confronting his shadow. Going inward to the place of the heart the character exists eventually, "At the heart of it all"..

    Paul Root
    Turners Falls, MA, U.S.A.

I have an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College. The two books on Blurb are for sale. I created these books over a course of 8 months; from the late Summer of 2007 until the middle of the Winter of 2008. This time of my life was spent working towards my Master's degree. The books are autobiographical at times; at times they are whimsical and strange. The labor put into them was definitely a labor of love. The stories and artwork I created in these comics went towards fulfilling my degree. I'd like to invite you to read them here and if you enjoy them, to possibly order one for yourselves. I can be contacted at paul.root@gmail.com and look forward to hearing from you, or just reading your comments or questions. You can also see more of my paintings and photographs at www.pauljlroot.com. I basically wrote and illustrated "The Fetch and The Fool" first, with "Charcoal Grey Days" coming shortly after. They were both inspired by the work of Dave McKean and Neil Gaiman.
