    About the Book

    Edit

Weller pottery was responsible for dozens of lines during its 50 years of existence. Burntwood / Claywood line was created in 1907 by Rudolf Lorber and made until about 1912 was a line replete with an amazing number of designs. Done in a simple but elegant dark brown over natural white or tan clay. Today it retains a graphic quality that is a stand out among American Art Pottery lines.

By focusing on one line the author/ collector has brought one of the most interesting of American Art Pottery lines for the viewers examination and appreciation. The book has all over 100 photos of 65 pieces of pottery.

There is no fun collecting for me unless research is involved. A year of stapler collecting has been fun.
