About the Book
One year ago, with a new camera in hand, I decided to take up photography again. What followed was a year shaped by movement, curiosity, and attention. Some days led me far from home, traveling through deserts, mountains, coastlines, and northern forests. Other days were spent close by, walking familiar trails, paddling quiet waters, or standing still long enough for wildlife to forget I was there.
Across these pages, the scale of life shifts constantly. Small, fleeting moments sit beside powerful encounters, from songbirds perched on reeds and hummingbirds transformed by light, to eagles passing overhead, herons lifting from desert lakes, puffins launching from Atlantic cliffs, and large mammals like elk, moose, and grizzly bears meeting my gaze. Each photograph carries not just a subject, but a story of patience, chance, and presence.
This book is not about perfection or chasing only iconic images. It is about being willing to stop, look up, lie back in the snow, or wait quietly in a kayak. It reflects a year of reconnecting with the natural world, one frame at a time, and discovering that wonder exists everywhere, whether thousands of miles away or just beyond the next bend in the trail.

About the Creator
I’ve loved photography from a young age, drawn to the idea of capturing moments in nature, even when my skills and equipment couldn’t quite keep up with my vision. About a year ago, I decided to fully commit, investing in a Canon R5 and a set of lenses that finally allowed me to translate what I see into meaningful images. Since then, photography has become a constant part of my life. I’m out as often as possible photographing wildlife close to home in Southern Ontario, while also traveling to destinations known for incredible wildlife, including Yellowstone, Arizona, Alberta, BC and Newfoundland. I continue to grow as a wildlife photographer, driven not only by the images themselves but by the hunt for the moment. A full day hiking and searching without taking a single photo is still a success, and always better than a day spent indoors.
