About the Book
Grow up side by side,
Lion’s there for Monkey
To help and to guide.
Inclusion’s important
For our family of four.
We celebrate each boy
Whom we couldn’t love more!
Lion and Monkey are fraternal twins who are different in many ways but share a special bond. Follow these brothers on their fun adventures! These children’s books are sweet, whimsical, and filled with colorful illustrations. They are meant to appeal to people of all ages. The stories highlight the bond between fraternal twins and follow them through daily life as they grow up together. They are written in rhyme and great to read aloud. My hope is that these stories function as tools to start conversations about inclusion, love, and acceptance.

About the Creator
This collection of illustrated children’s books is for siblings, twins, kids with special needs, and kids who know someone with special needs. Dyna Mendoza is the mother of fraternal twins, a fierce advocate within the special needs community, a storyteller, and an illustrator. One of her sons is typically functioning and the other has a rare genetic disorder and special needs. She is sharing their journey of growing up together in hopes of teaching readers to celebrate inclusion, empathy, and love. Dyna is also a creative director with a Bachelor of Arts in graphic design and has spent many years in the media field doing marketing, brand activations, & corporate branding. However, she has found her true calling, writing and illustrating stories about raising twins while navigating life with a special needs son and finding the joys in witnessing empathy, acceptance, and compassion through their journey. Dyna wrote and illustrated these books as a love letter to her family.
