About the Book
Different but Not Separate gathers fragments of human life in fleeting yet unforgettable images. From city streets and seashores to courtrooms, cemeteries, and playgrounds, Mantas Stočkus captures fragile moments where beauty and sorrow intertwine. These poems explore exile and belonging, memory and loss, resilience and tenderness—always attentive to the small details that reveal the vastness of our shared humanity.
With haiku-like precision and narrative depth, this collection invites readers to pause, to witness, and to feel the pulse of lives both ordinary and extraordinary. A book of quiet revelations, it shows how—even in loneliness and fracture—we remain connected: different, but never truly separate.
