About the Book
We are the love child of a narcissistic mother and an emotionally immature father, who is the step-son of a pedophile. We daydreamed, retreating into a world of imagination whenever life became overwhelming. We learned to dissociate, to drift away from the hurt. It was like pressing a pause button on our emotions, creating a safe space in our minds where the chaos couldn’t reach us. We would close our eyes and imagine we were somewhere else, somewhere safe and happy, where love was the norm. We created an army of Lost Boys to cope with the severe and prolonged abuse. We are The Chorus, we are Denise's big brothers, and this is Our Sister’s Song
