Over a 25 year plus spanse, he produced thousands of monster masks single handedly from his small Vxx-Fx studio. These masks have become prized collector items among both mask collectors and makers. With the prices skyrocketing, they have become a rare and scarce commodity in the after market. Thanks to graphic artist Christopher Mayrides, tattoo artist Justin Jarrell and Vidaurri's photo archives this book is a stunning visual treat. Every page is in full color and beautifully laid out by Mayrides. Full color artist renderings of every mask and a comic introduction by Jarrell enhance the unique look of the book. A short bio by Mayrides, a foreword by both Lee Kaplan and WIlliam Malouf plus an introduction by Vidaurri himself open the book to the reader. Every mask, from the first to the last, has its own story of how it came to be from the memory of Vxx, (also known as the Old Mask Maker). In its third printing, the book has become a classic in the mask collecting world. If you do have the first printing, this one has many updates to both text and photos, adding additional masks and a Monster Photo Gallery at the end of the book. If you're a fan of Vxx masks, it's well worth it to have both books as they complement one another.
