    About the Book

    Edit

This black and white series was photographed entirely at Oceano Dunes Nature Preserve near Pismo Beach, California (San Luis Obispo county). Paul Takeuchi explores a strictly formalist depiction light, line, and texture, mimicking the look of infrared black and white film, though shot entirely on digital. It was inspired by some of his Zone System heroes, Ansel Adams, Minor White, and Edward Weston. Photographed between 2005 and 2023.
