    About the Book

    Edit

Come with me on a picturesque tour of three amazing countries filled with both sparkling and ancient crumbling temples, Buddhist monks, mesmerizing scenery and friendly people. You’ll visit the Grand Palace in Bangkok, the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet, hill-tribe villages where women stretch out their necks with rings of gold, an orchid farm, a tea plantation, hot springs and a fish foot-cleaning station, a Black House museum containing elaborate carvings, thrones made of horns, and other strange objects; an elephant camp; a bear sanctuary; and you’ll journey up the Mekong river in a longboat, stopping to visit villages and a cave packed with Buddha statues. In Cambodia, enjoy a colorful Apsara dance performance and dinner before catching a sunrise at Angkor Wat and exploring the temple ruins at Siem Reap where the movie, “Lara Croft Tomb Raider” was filmed. You’ll also meet wedding couples having their pictures taken at the temples. On Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in southeast Asia, climb a bamboo ladder to a treehouse where you can view thousands of painted storks, pelicans and other nesting and flying birds before having lunch at a home in a floating village, checking out alligator farms, cruising through a water village built on stilts, and so much more.
