    About the Book

    Edit

Ben is one of the first six people to complete the entire Eastern Divide Trail in one run. The longest contiguous off-road bikepacking route in the world, the EDT runs nearly 6,000 miles along the St. Lawrence and Eastern Continental Divides from Cape Spear, Newfoundland, to Key West, Florida. This vivid journalistic photobook captures his epic adventure in 2023 at a personal level, showing the incredible sights, landmarks, and landscapes of the Eastern Mountains, as well as sharing the challenges and triumphs he experienced. It is a testament to physical and mental perseverance, the beauty of our shared wilderness, and the goodness of people along the way.

    Minneapolis, MN

I capture and share my stories of self-supported bikepacking adventures and BWCA wilderness canoe expeditions. I am a mid-life convert to bikepacking and a seasoned flatwater canoeist. I believe in the innate value of wilderness and the overall goodness of people. I know that riding a bike can change your life, and that paddling the quiet wilderness can be your reset button. The best part is that I ride and paddle with Nicole, my adventurous and supportive partner and loving wife.
