    About the Book

Back cover quote: "Mark and Deb spent two weeks exploring Turkey. Starting from Istanbul they made their way to the capitol Ankara and then on to Anatolia and Cappadocia. Countless caves later, they flew south to Antalya where they spent four grueling days on a 75' yacht sailing on the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea. They came home tan and relaxed, with over 1400 photos and a few stories to tell."

Mark and Deb traveled to Turkey with their friends Martin and Gun. Martin is Mark's best friend and served as the officiant of our wedding in 1999. Mark returned the favor in 2006 when he married Martin and Gun in sunny California. After the wedding, they invited us along with other close friends to join them in a tour of Gun's home town and country.

Thanks to Gun's tireless planning, and some good fortune, we had a very enjoyable trip. We may have seen more of Turkey than any other country we have visited or even the one where we currently live.

Little did they know just how much travel that would mean. They have been in a dozen countries in the past year. Through it all Deb has been keeping a travel blog, documenting all that she sees and experiences, even the mundane interests her. In 2009 she had her only daughter and the adventures took another turn towards motherhood. When she's not traveling or writing about their adventures, Deb enjoys photography, hiking, natural history, cooking and knitting.
