About the Book
In 2003, my husband and I moved from our home of 30 years to an apartment with a beautiful view of Central Park. We always knew how lucky we were to be able to watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade and the New York City Marathon, and to see the seasons change from our 5th floor windows. But in March of 2020, as the city went into lockdown and we began months of isolation, the view took on new significance. I watched as the streets became empty, then filled again as people took to the streets to protest the murder of George Floyd. Throughout the pandemic, documenting the view from my window gave me a sense of purpose and became a source of solace and hope.
