In my more than twenty years of teaching in the United States, I have come into contact with many students from the United States and around the world. The stories of these students are unique for they represent the experiences and aspirations of the young people with different family backgrounds, cultural backgrounds, and personalities as they navigate their way through life. Since the 21st century, science and technology have been developing rapidly, people are living longer and more comfortably, and the Internet and various social media have made it possible for us to interact instantly with people thousands of miles away, but at the same time, people feel more lonely than ever. Many people feel confused and lost in the face of the complexities of the world and do not know where to start. Although the young people depicted in the book do not yet have any spectacular achievements, their desire for a sincere life and their enthusiasm to contribute to society are refreshing and touching. How they understand themselves, how they value life and put this understanding into practice, their thoughts, choices and explorations on the path of life have inspired and motivated the author, their teacher, into recording these stories to share with the readers.
