    About the Book

    Edit

The Palouse is a region in eastern Washington state that was formed during repeated catastrophic floods as the glaciers retreated during the last Ice Age. The land was turned into rolling hills and one of the best vantage points from which to see the combination of Nature and Man's handiwork is from the top of Steptoe Butte, a rocky pinnacle that rises 1,000 feet above the rolling valley floor. "One Week In The Palouse" is a collection of photos taken from Steptoe Butte and the valley around it during the first week of July 2007. The colors are intense and the views unlike anything one usually sees driving down the highways between the small farming communities that dot the countryside. This is an intimate but vivid portrait of a landscape unique to North America.
