    About the Book

“Why do you always wear a choker?” Charlotte finds herself asked this question many times in her life. The young aristocrat looks to be your average Victorian beauty, however she has many foreboding secrets that she keeps locked up. Despite her haughty nature, it seems as though she wants to live a mundane life as her father’s secretary, but Charlotte’s plans are turned upside down upon meeting a mysterious, masked musician named Mordecai, a gentle and kind soul forged from tragedy with the will to inspire. The two build an unlikely friendship as everything she knew begins to spiral further out of control due to the Count Von Dunkelheit, Charlotte’s father, and his perverse habits as well as her own digging up of the past. She begins losing sight of the path she once sought, and is thrown into new infernos from guardianship of tormented souls to threats of the madhouse. Charlotte tells the dark story of her life through a collection of letters, notes, journals, and other mediums in the order she experiences them. A reading not for the faint of heart, pulling it's main inspiration from Emilie Autumn and The Phantom of the Opera as well as other Beauty and the Beast-like stories along with other fables and folktales.

C.S.R. self-identifies as a hellion and claims to be a one-person team that writes, illustrates, and doesn’t know how to shut up so they decided to get into voice acting instead, playing both male and female roles (and still waiting for the day they can voice a non-binary character). He’s been passionately writing and creating his work ever since he was young and at one point picked up the idea of voicing some of it himself alongside opening doors for others to get more voice work through his content. As the narcissist that they are, C.S.R. has a habit of always casting themselves in their own projects but has recently been getting roles in other people’s. As a queer, polyamorous trans person, he is a big advocate on representation of the LGBT+ community and recognizing how differences are beauty. They try to spread as much positivity and compassion as possible, always encouraging the actors casted in their projects to build a community with each other and build one another up.
